CARPINUS henryana

A medium sized tree in which the leaves taper to a fine point. When these first appear they have a coppery red colour. A lovely tree with considerable poise.

CARPINUS coreana

An extremely rare hornbeam with relatively smaller leaves. These are attractively corrugated in texture and display a glossy mid green in summer. Makes a small tree.

CARPINUS fargesiana

This is a rare hornbeam in which the leaves are crimson as they first start to unfurl into their long tapering shapes.

CARPINUS schuschaensis

A small and rare hornbeam with an attractive shape. Neat pleated leaves and bright red new foliage in early summer. A recent introduction.

CARPINUS turczaninowii

Another rare hornbeam with branches that turn the growing tree into an interesting shape. Small leaves give the tree considerable poise and appeal. Stunning bronze colour in autumn.
